Discount Methods in Salesforce CPQ

1. Product Option Discount

(Here we take Home Security Console as a bundle and give a discount for the Door Sensor option from the bundle) 

Let’s create the discount for the bundle option 

Login > CPQ developer org > select CPQ app > Products > choose Home Security Console 

From the Product >Related > Option à select PO-000085 >Pricing > For the Discount field give 10 > Save 

Now, select any quote add the Home Security Console product select the Door Sensor product and  

See the below pic the price of the Door sensor product net unit price will be changed to 36 from the list unit price of 40 

2. Discount based on the Product quantity using a Discount Schedule  

(Here we give the discount based on the quantity of Window Sensor products if the quantity of Window sensor is greater than 50 and less than 100 means it will provide a 10% discount and if it is greater than 100 means it will be given the 20% discount) 

First, we need to create a discount schedule  

From the CPQ app > click Discount Schedule > Create New  

Schedule name > Bulk discount & >Type à Range & Discount unit > Percent and Save 

From the Bulk discount add the Tiers range 

Click Bulk Discount > Edit Tiers > Add Tiers and Save  

Then, we need to add the created Bulk discount on the Product.  

Products > Window Sensor > Edit > Discount Schedule > Choose Bulk discount > Save 

Now go to the Quote > choose any quote > Edit lines > add Window Sensor product > Select.  

The Quote line gives 60 quantities for the Window Sensor product see the result below pic and the 10% is applied automatically. 

And again from the Quote line change  the quantity of the Window Sensor product to 101  

see the result below pic and the 20% applied automatically 

3. Manual discount in Salesforce CPQ 

A manual discount is just simple we can go directly to the quote line and apply the discount that we need 

Click Quote > choose any Quote > Edit lines > add Firewall product > select  

On the Quote line > Additional Disc field > put 20 > Calculate, then the discount will be applied.
