PRODUCT RULE WITH SELECTION TYPE USING THE CONFIGURATION ATTRIBUTES

 Product Rule with Selection type using the Configuration Attributes

(Here we take the Product as a Desktop computer and Configuration attributes as System Category to Hide and remove the product option of Ram 8GB and Hard Drive 4TB products)

(Please refer to my before blogs and get to know how to create the Configuration Attributes Now here we see how to create the Product rule with Selection type)

Before that, we have to create the twin field as System Category on the Quote line which you have created the field on the product option

Let's see how to create the validation rule in the following steps

 * First login with the salesforce CPQ org

 * In-app launcher search as product rule and select new to create the new rule

 *In the product rule name give the name as the Selection rule for the Desktop product

 * Select type à Selection and evaluation event à Always and condition met  à All and   active à and   click save 

* Now create the error condition here we need two condition

 * Error conditionà new to create the condition

 * Select Target object à Configuration Attributes and Target field à SYSTEM_CATEGORY__c

* In filter information selectà operator à equals and filter type à value and filter  value à SOFTWARE and select  save

 

Then you can add the product to Hide and Remove using Action

* Select Action à New  and Type à Hide & Remove and Product à Hard Drive 4TB and Save

* Select Action à New  and Type à Hide & Remove and Product à RAM 8GB and Save

Now need to configure the product on the Configuration Rule

* Select Configuration Rule à New à and Product à Desktop Computer and Active the checkbox

* Now go to the Quote line and choose any Quote and Add the Desktop computer product and choose the Software option on the System Category and see the RAM 8GB and Hard Drive 4TB can be removed from the Configure product page
