CREATE VALIDATION RULE IN SALESFROCE CPQ

Product Validation rule in CPQ :-

 

Validation rules confirm that a quote's product combinations or quote line field values match predetermined conditions. Users see an error message and can't save their product configuration or quote until they meet these conditions

 Let's see how to create the validation rule in following steps

 * First login with the salesforce CPQ org

 * In-app launcher search as product rule and select new to create the new rule

 *In the product rule name give the name as the validation rule for smartwatchband 

 * Select type à validation and evaluation event à save and condition met  à All and   active à true and error message àDont allow to add more than one product   and   click save 

 

 

* Now create the error condition here we need two condition

 * Error conditionà new to create the condition

 * Select Target object à Quoteline and Target field à SBQQ__ProductCode__c

* In filter information selectà operator à equals and filter type à value and filter  value à SMARTWATCHBAND and select  save and new  

 * Select Targetobject à Quoteline and Target field à SBQQ__Quantity__c

* In filter information selectà operator à greater than and 

  filter type à value and filter value à 1 and select save 

 

Now validation rule has been created Go to quote select any quote and add

the smartwatchband  product and in quantity change the value as 2 then select save 

yes you see the result of the error message

Now below you can see our configure product rule error message

(Note - Here we configure with the Quote scope and for the Product scope the steps are same which we configured in Quote scope and the only difference need add the respective product to the Configuration rule)
